The IMS is participating in the Stuttgart Science Festival 2022. The state capital wants to use the festival to better position Stuttgart as a university and science city both locally and on a national level. The goal is to create a closer connection between science, business and urban life.
A LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE MICRO PACKAGING TECHNOLOGY AND MICROELECTRONICS
The event takes place at two research facilities on the university campus in Vaihingen.
Get a better insight into the manufacture and assembly of microelectronic circuits and systems. Hahn-Schickard we will present micro systems technology applications, such as optical micro systems and spatial electronics. We will also take you on a tour of our system-in-foil laboratory for the production of foil-based systems and ultra-thin flexible micro systems. Following this, a short ten-minute walk will take you to Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart. Once there, a window tour in the clean room building will give you fascinating insights into the technologies and processes used to manufacture microelectronic circuits and fabricate extremely precise optical nano structures. These are required for the development of 5- and 3-nanometer processes. The event will conclude with a presentation of assembly processes in packaging and interconnection technology for microchips.
Meeting point will be Hahn-Schickard, Allmandring 9B from 1.30 pm.
2 pm: applications of micro systems technology and system-in-foil laboratory.
3.30 pm: window tour clean room as well as packaging and interconnection technology for microchips at Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart
5 pm: end of tour
