New microelectronics exhibition area at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum
“Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart (IMS CHIPS) and the automation specialist PILZ would like to congratulate the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum on the new “Microelectronics” exhibition area.
IMS CHIPS and PILZ are pleased to enrich this exhibition area with chip manufacturing exibits. Using the example of a microprocessor developed and manufactured by IMS CHIPS for PILZ, the exhibition shows the development of a chip starting with the bare silicon wafer, through special exposure masks to the finished microchip in the package.
The Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum in Paderborn, named after and endowed by the computer pioneer and founder of Nixdorf, Germany’s leading computer manufacturer for many years, is now the world’s largest computer museum.
PILZ GmbH & Co. KG, based in Ostfildern near Stuttgart, is the leading manufacturer of solutions for safe automation. Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart is a foundation of the state of Baden-Württemberg and researches, develops and manufactures microelectronics components and nanostructures used in industrial applications, aerospace and numerous research projects.”
